Ada Lutricia Robinson Felton, 98, wife of her late beloved husband Edwin Thornton Felton, Sr. of Blackville died on Wednesday, March 23, 2022.

We mourn the loss of a wonderful wife, mother, grand and great- grandmother, sister, teacher, friend, and community leader. She was known by many as "Mrs. Felton" while her close friends called her "Ada" and her grandchildren affectionally called her "A".

Mrs. Felton was born in Elko, SC on June 01, 1923. She was the daughter of the late Phyllis Brown Robinson and Alex Robinson, Jr. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church where she served in various capacities.

Mrs. Felton attended primary school in Elko, SC and graduated valedictorian from Macedonia High School, Blackville S.C. Her college education was initiated at Voorhees College, Denmark, SC and completed at Benedict College, Columbia, SC. At Benedict, she graduated Cum Laude and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education with a minor in English. Further studies were done by her at the University of SC Salkehatchie in Allendale, SC and Hampton Institute, Hampton, Virginia.

For thirty-eighty (38) years, she taught in the public schools of Aiken and Barnwell Counties where she influenced the lives of countless students. Although she was proud of all her students, she was most awed by the ones that chose to "take up the cross of Jesus Christ and proceed into ministry. "Mrs. Felton served as the principal at Dry Branch Elementary School and the initial principal of the first Head Start Program in Blackville, SC. Upon retirement, she served on the Generations Unlimited Board for sixteen years and volunteered with their Meals on Wheels Food Program. To her credit, Mrs. Felton has received many awards from her church and the community too numerous to mention here. However, she counts the induction into the Blackville Public Schools Alumni Association Hall of Fame as her greatest.

Surviving are her sons: Gary D. (Sheila) Felton of Beaufort, and Edwin J Felton, Jr. of the home, four grandchildren: Latifah S. Felton of Atlanta, GA, Enriqies V. Mack of Williston, SC, Gary D Felton, Jr. and Devin A. Felton both of Beaufort, three great grandchildren: Kenyon C Williams, Riquasia V. Mack, and Amarah B. S. Mack all of Atlanta. A special niece/adopted daughter, Louise C. (Jonas) Harris of Charlotte, NC. Two special cousins: Hedea Singletary and Nettie W. Bowens, and numerous nephews, grand nieces, and other relatives.
