Funeral services for the late Mrs. Alefare Akins will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Williams Chapel Baptist Church in Ehrhardt, South Carolina. Interment services will follow immediately in the church cemetery. Viewing for the public will be held on Friday between the hours of 12:00 noon-8:00 pm at the funeral home. On October 26, 2013, at The Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg, South Carolina, an angel of silence came and sealed the lips of Mrs. Alefare "Alice" Akins, a loving sister, mother, aunt and grandmother. Her soul winged its flight from this world to a place of eternal rest. Alefare "Alice" Akins was born to the late Whitfield and Hannah B. Carter on April 19, 1939 in Bamberg, South Carolina. "Alice," as she was affectionately known to many, joined Williams Chapel Baptist Church at an early age. Alice was united in Holy Matrimony to Lugene Akins and to this union, four children were born. She was preceded in death by four siblings and two children, Lugene Yoffy Akins and Linda A. Kirkland, as well as one granddaughter, Chanett Akins. She leaves to cherish her memories - two devoted sons: Donald L. Akins of Spartanburg, SC and Charles E. Akins of Bamberg, SC; brother, Archie (Beatrice) Carter; sister, Ardell (Rev. H.A.) McCreary of Jacksonville, FL; sister-in-law, Louise Carter of Ehrhardt, SC; special sister, Eula Mae Anderson of Bamberg, SC; twenty-two (22) grandchildren; forty-four (44) great grandchildren; two (2) great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
