Mintz, daughter of the late Mr. George Milton and Mrs. Addie Salley Moorer was born on January 18, 1928 in Orangeburg, South Carolina. She entered into eternal rest on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at the Regional Medical Center, Orangeburg, South Carolina, following an extended illness. Alice attended the public schools of Orangeburg County and attended Wilkinson High School. At an early age, she joined Calvary United Methodist Church (now Edisto Fork United Methodist Church). She later joined Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, where she was a member of Ward Two, served on the Usher Board and was a member of the mass choir. Alice was a member and Vice President of the Sunnyside Floral Club. She was employed as a private sitter for a number of years. Alice was united in holy matrimony to the late Wesley Eugene Mintz, Sr, in 1951 and to this union five children was born. She was also preceded in death by her son, Eugene Wesley Mintz; grandsons, Harold and Rasheen; sisters, Mazie M. Gaffney, Zella Mae Smiley and Daisy Bell Moorer; brother, Henry Moorer and her daughter-in-law, Mattie Mintz. Alice leaves to cherish her fond memories: two sons, Wesley E. Mintz, Jr. and Anthony Mintz both of Orangeburg, SC; two daughters, Denise (Jonnie) Hook and Alison Mintz both of Orangeburg, SC; two sisters, Surlena Frazier of Orangeburg, SC and Sylvia (Mack) Williamson of Denver, Colorado; one brother, George (Mary) Moorer of Bronx, NY; six grandchildren, Keana (Jonathan) Davis of Atlanta, Georgia, Samantha (Jason) Perry of Orangeburg, SC, Toni Mintz of Sumter, SC, Brandon Hook of Rock Hill, SC, Wesley D. Mintz of Columbia, SC and Kayla Mintz of Bowman, SC; seven great-grandchildren, Jonathan Jr., Jourdyn and Jonaeya Davis of Atlanta, Georgia, Jayden Perry of Orangeburg, SC, Miles Randolph, Jakiyah Brown, and Nicholas Mintz; a special family friend, Jordan Rickenbacker of Orangeburg, South Carolina and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Viewing for the public will held on Friday from 10:00 am-8:00 pm at the funeral home.
