Anthony Bernard Matheney, was the son of Arthur James Donaldson and Leuvonia Matheney Donaldson. Anthony, affectionately known as "Batman" was born on November 18, 1966 in Barnwell, South Carolina.

At an early age Batman joined the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Blackville, SC.

He was educated at Blackville-Hilda High School where he obtained a high school diploma. Batman was a member of the Blackville-Hilda Football and basketball teams while in high school. Batman's first job was at Star Carter Motors, in Barnwell, SC. He worked as a laborer performing old jobs. Batman went on to mechanic school and obtained a certificate in beginner mechanics. He continued his career at Carolina Metals as a machine operator. He later worked for B&B Motors as a vehicle transporter. He also worked at Dixie Narco in Williston, SC and for Barnwell County schools as a custodian.

Batman was well known and loved by many people. He was very respectful to all and was known as the town mechanic. If anyone had problems with their vehicle, before taking it to the auto shop to be fixed, they would call Batman to look at it first.

Anthony was preceded in death by his parents: Arthur and Leuvonia Donaldson

Anthony leaves to cherish his loving memories: One daughter – Samone A. Matheney, Aiken, SC; three sisters; Joyce (Torence) Trammell, Martinez, GA; Denise (Carlos) Ortega, Graniteville, SC; Victoria Kirkland, Gaston, SC. Five aunts; one great aunt (Lillie Bell Bradley), Blackville, SC; Essie (Edward) Smalls, Blackville, SC; Lessie Donaldson, Blackville, SC; Barbara (Dwayne) Black, Blackville, SC; Jessie Mae Matheney, Blackville, SC. Four uncles: One great uncle (Abraham Heyward), Blackville, SC; Linnie Matheney, Blackville, SC; Larry (Velina) Gloster, Blackville, SC; Arthur (Joyce) Newton, Greer, SC. Those that were dear to his heart: Shaquoya Shell, Jalen Johnson, Chandler Williamson, and Chaz Creech. A Host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.

We would like to extend a special thanks to Lessie Donaldson and Essie Smalls for your love and dedication to your nephew. We know you will miss him greatly!
