English Smith, daughter of the late Leroy and Mary Williams English was born in Bamberg County, South Carolina on June 1, 1949 and entered into eternal rest on September 24, 2011. Artha attended the public schools in Denmark, South Carolina and graduated with honors from Denmark Technical College and also attended Voorhees College. Artha was a faithful member of Faith Ministry. She enjoyed cooking and was an avid baker. Artha was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Leroy Smith, Sr., who preceded her in death and they raised four beautiful children. Artha is preceded in death by two sisters, Christine Moody and Ida Covington and one brother, William English. Cherishing Artha's memories are: two daughters, Sherry (Timothy) Thompson and Carolyn Smith; two sons, Leroy (Sherri) Smith, Jr. and Shawntel Smith; two granddaughters, Laporchia Mixon and Danielle Faust; give grandsons, Antonio Smith, Aaron Downing, Alexander Smith, Amaris White and Armani White; one great granddaughter, Hailey Smith; one great grandson, Zackery Smith; two sisters, Carrie English and Mary Butler; one brother, Charles (Retha) English; a very special niece, LaFaye (Kieth) Bias; two aunts, Margaret English and Doshia Kemp; four uncles, Charlie English, Isadore English, Arthur Lee English and Nathaniel Parker; sisters-in-law, Kay Frances English, Lorine Brown, Lessie Hamilton, Mary Davis and Lelia Haynes; brothers-in-law, Hubert Covington, Miller Smith, Winchester Smith and James Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends. Viewing for the public will be held on Wednesday, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends may call at the residence and at the funeral home.
