On January 3, 2020, Brother Arthur Lee Montgomery, Jr., entered eternal rest at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg, SC with his family by his side. He was the second oldest child born on October 15, 1948, to the late Arthur Lee Montgomery, Sr., and the late Sadie Montgomery-Hughes in Florence, SC.

He was a 1971 graduate of Denmark-Olar High School.  Brother Montgomery was known to his friends and co-workers as "Chad."  After many years of work at American Yard Product (AYP), he retired and did a part-time job at McDonald's in Denmark, SC.  He joined the Progressive Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ in Denmark, SC, and was baptized in water in Jesus' Name according to Acts 2:38 and received the precious gift of the Holy Ghost shortly after.  He was a member of the Brotherhood Department and Male Chorus. He continued to worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness until his health started to decline.

He is preceded in death by his parents and four siblings: Francena Montgomery, Katherine Montgomery, Charles Montgomery, and Anthony Montgomery.  On April 15, 2000, he married the former Sister Mary Ella Rumph.

He leaves to cherish fond memories are his wife of 19 years, Sister Mary R. Montgomery of the home, daughter Jessica Montgomery of Bamberg, SC., stepchildren Ernell Rumph and Shana Rumph, both of Denmark, SC., Bryan (Ebony) Williams of Atlanta, Ga., three sisters: Glorious Montgomery of Brooklyn, NY, Helen Montgomery of Los Angeles, CA., Margie Montgomery of Bamberg, SC., two brothers: Walter Montgomery of Columbia, SC and Willie Montgomery of Denmark, SC., Step grands Kevana Milhouse, Ma'terius Rumph, Mariana Rumph, Ariel Rice, Amber Oliver, Bryan Williams, Jr., and one step-great grandchild- Kaylee Colon, a special Aunt; Winnie Montgomery of Moncks Corner, SC.  Five sisters-in-law: Sister Bessie (Monroe) Dibble and Hattie Folks both of Cordova, SC; Annie Mae Rumph of Orangeburg, SC, Sadie R. Davis of Denmark, SC, Daisy Rumph of Bamberg, SC; two brothers-in-law: Dan Rumph of Denmark, SC and Mack A. Rumph of Bamberg, SC., his Progressive Church family, a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, other relatives and friends who will love and miss him.
