Funeral services for the late Bertha Corbitt will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, Blackville, SC. Interment services will follow immediately at Hope Memorial Park Cemetery, Barnwell, SC. Reverend John Holston and Reverend Ted Bellinger will officiate. Viewing for the public will be held on Friday from 10:00 am- 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Bertha Lee Coleman-Corbitt, 63, departed this life on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at University Hospital in Augusta, Georgia. She was born on June 16, 1950 in Blackville, South Carolina to Aglean Coleman and the late Luther Augustus. At an early age, she joined and was baptized at the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Blackville, South Carolina. Bertha Lee (Bert) attended the public schools in Blackville, South Carolina. Later, she moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she graduated from Southern High School in 1969. She later moved back to South Carolina, where she met and married her late husband, Herman Sanders Corbitt. Bert was employed at Ducane Manufacturing in Blackville for many years. She leaves to cherish her memories - one son, Lawrence Coleman (Jackie) of Aiken, SC; two daughters: Teneka Coleman Gatson (Maurice) and Hope Coleman both of Blackville, SC; two brothers: John Minus of West Palm Beach, FL and Fredrick Rebenson (Sylvia) of Durham, NC; two sisters: Barbara Augustus and Sandra Augustus both of Blackville, SC; four grandchildren: Antonio, Curtis, Sinan and Miracle, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
