Revelation 21:4 Funeral services for the late Charles H. Grant will be held on Saturday, September 15,2012 at 12:00 noon at St. John Baptist Church in Bambeg, SC. Interment will follow immediately at Bamberg Memory Gardens, Bamberg, SC. Viewing for the public will be held on Friday between the hours of 12:00 noon- 8:00 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6:00- 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Charles Henry Grant was born March 6, 1947 in Bamberg South Carolina to the Late Malcolm and Elsie Mae Grant. He departed this life on September 8, 2012 at The Regional Medical Center , Orangeburg , South Carolina where he was surrounded by family and friends. Charles was educated at Richard Carroll High School, Bamberg, S.C. He later attended The Lineman Institute where he received his linemen certification. He was employed for 19+ years at Edisto Electric Co-Op. He was baptized at an early age at St John's Baptist Church and later moved his membership to McCune Branch Baptist Church, Lodge S.C. While there he was a dutiful faithful member serving as an usher and a member of the trustee board. He recently started attending First Glory Pentecostal Holiness Church in Bamberg. Charles was married to the former Carolyn Murdaugh of Ehrhardt, S.C. This union was blessed with daughter and a son. Those left to cherish fond memories: two daughters: Linda Hartwell (Reginald) of Denmark, S.C.; LaLisa Folk (Earnell) of Aiken, S.C. ; one son: Charles "Chucky" Grant Jr. (Monique) of Boiling Springs, S.C.; nine grandchildren: Keion Bryant , Khayla and Kaysha Hartwell all of Columbia, S.C.; Payton, Cameron, Gavin, and Grayson all of Aiken, S.C.; Ashleigh and Paris Grant all of Boiling Springs, S.C.; one great-grand: Shamaria Roberts of Columbia, S.C.; two brothers: Malcolm Grant ( Martha) of Atlanta, Georgia; James Grant (Ernestine) of Macon, Georgia; three sisters: Bernice Grant (Darrel Peay) of Brooklyn, New York; Lela Mae Campbell of Louisville, Kentucky; Helen Campbell (James Middleton) Bamberg, S.C. ; one uncle: Rayfield Grant, Queens, New York; five aunts: Adell Downing, Berdena Tyler, Genevie Tyler, Helen Tyler all of Bamberg, S.C. and Fannie Grant, Queens, New York; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other loving relatives and friends; a special friend: Yvonne Murdock.
