Charles Henry Meeks, age 68, was born on April 9, 1952 to the late James and Bernice Meeks, Sr.

He received his education at Richard Carroll School.  He was employed at Western Auto for many years.  He then became self-employed owner of Meeks Small Engine Repair.  Later in the years he started working with Dayco products in Williston, SC as a cutter operator for over 29 years.  During this time at Dayco, he was also owner of Meeks Paint and Body Shop in Bamberg.

In his younger years he joined Saint John Baptist Church in Bamberg, SC.

Henry was affectionately known as a mentor to all who knew him.  He was a very private but well-known individual.  He was always willing to give a helping hand to family and friends and supported anyone who tried to reach their goals.  In his spare time, he enjoyed working in his shop, providing entrepreneurship advice to his daughter, Cynthia, discussing everyday life lessons with his daughter Shanette and spending time with his granddaughter, Jayla.  He loved fishing, riding his motorcycle and doing various projects with his brother, Melvin, nephew and friends.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Darrell Meeks.

On August 16, 2020 he was called home at his residence in Bamberg, SC.  He leaves to cherish his memory:  his daughters, Cynthia Meeks of Atlanta, GA and Shanette Meeks (Johnny McKinney) of Norway, SC; granddaughter, Jayla McKinney of Norway, SC; nine sisters, Vernell Rice and Virgil Smalls, both of Denmark, SC, Eva Dowling, Juanita (Tony) Meeks, June Meeks, Joann Meeks, Marilyn (Bernard) Haynes all of Bamberg, SC, Wanda (Henry) Nettles of TN and Cynthia (Robert) James of Blackville, SC; three brothers, James (Lessie) Meeks, Ronald (Jeanette) Meeks and Melvin Meeks all of Bamberg, SC; sister-in-law Bernadette Sanders-Meeks of Denmark, SC; two close friends, Tony Pinckney and Chris Jennings and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
