Memorial services for the late Mr. Charles R. Odom, Sr. will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at 6:00 pm at Dash' Funeral Home Chapel in Blackville, South Carolina.

Mr. Charles R. Odom, Sr. affectionately known as "Charlie Ruby", was born on May 15, 1940 in Hilda, South Carolina to the late Rev. Napoleon and Alma Odom.  On Friday, June 14, 2019, he entered into eternal rest at the Regional Medical Center of Orangeburg, South Carolina.

At an early age, he joined Sweet Branch Baptist Church in Govan, South Carolina and attended Macedonia High School in Blackville, South Carolina.  He was employed in security and lawn care.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Clary Ella Harley Odom; two daughters, Margie A. Lee and Mary L. Bates; one sister; six brothers and his stepmother, Estelle Raysor Odom.

Those remaining to cherish his fond memories are:  his daughter, Willie Mae (Robert) Smalls; his son, Charles R. (Robert) Odom Jr. of Blackville, South Carolina; one step daughter, Sophia; four grandaughters; one grandson; four great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; eight adopted grandchildren; three loving sisters, Peggie O. White; Hannah O. Singleton and Annie Mae (Willie) Gerrick; a sister-in-law, Eldora Odom; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
