Early in life, Charles joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Lees, South Carolina. He was educated in the Macedonia Public School System where he thoroughly enjoyed playing the saxophone. Charles was employed by numerous companies which included him working as a certified welder and working at Ducane Heating and Cooling.  Prior to becoming disabled, he was employed by the Atlantic Turf Farm where he was honored with the outstanding service award.  During Charles'  spare time, he enjoyed listening to gospel, blues and jazz music.

Charles was the father of two children, Marlo and Stacey Williams. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mrs. Mary Hunter.

Cherishing Charles' precious memories are his children, Marlo and Stacey Williams both of Atlanta, Georgia; three grandchildren; two brothers, Carl (Angie) Williams of Blackville, SC and Dennis (Dororthy) Williams of St. Charles, Missouri; three sisters, Louvenia Reed of Blackville, SC, Joe (Robert) Martino of Ehrhardt, SC and Ruth Smalls of Blackville, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews and friends.
