Charlie Jones, 71, son of the late Rufus and the late Louise Jones was born on November 22, 1950, in Barnwell County, South Carolina.  He entered eternal rest on December 15, 2021, at the Select Specialty Hospital, Augusta Georgia.

Charlie was baptized at Shrub Branch Baptist Church and attended regularly with his parents. He married Mary R. Jones July 1, 1972, and they celebrated 49 years together. He loved spending time at home with his family, watching movies and old westerns.

Bro. Charlie Jones was raised as a member of Rufus Jones Lodge #615 and served faithfully under the leadership of Worshipful Master Rufus Jones, his father.

Charlie was educated at the Kelly Edwards School (K-4) and then the Macedonia School (5-12).  He received extended education at Denmark Technical College for Drafting and Welding to enhance his skills. Charlie worked for Ducane Heating Corporation for 30 plus years, and in that time, he led and managed his department many years, faithfully.  Also, he was employed by AGY, Zeus and Generation Unlimited (Local Motion).

He was preceded in death by four siblings, Rufus Jones Sr, Mary Wooten, Thelma Jones and William Henry Jones Sr.

He leaves cherished memories to his wife, Mary R. Jones of Blackville, SC;  one son, Victor (Wanda) Jones; two grandchildren, Bryson & Imani Jones of Blackville, SC; two brothers, Ponell Jones of Blackville, SC, Edward (Bernice) Jones of Upper Marlboro, MD; five sisters, Elberta Bellinger of Charlotte, NC, Virginia Lucille Beatty of Washington, DC, Rosa Lee (Charles) Harley of Capital Heights, MD, Carroll Johnson-Priester of Blackville, SC, Sharie "Hassie" Gordon-Huggins of Atlanta, GA; two brothers-in-law:  Sigmond (Sylvia) Riley of Fort Washington, MD, Leon Riley of Orangeburg, SC.  Several sisters-in-law: Mildred Bolden of Denmark, SC, Pauline Darby of Orangeburg, SC, Shirley Miller of Denmark, SC, Carolyn Islar of Denmark, SC, Willie Mae Tyson of Denmark, SC, Emily Lee of Blackville, one aunt-in-law, Carrie Mae Copland with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
