?Mr. Charlie Minus was born November 26, 1936 in Barnwell County, South Carolina. He was one of nine children born from the union of the late Isaac and Edith Willis Minus. He departed this life on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at the Aiken Regional Medical Center

He was educated in the Macedonia School system in Blackville, South Carolina graduating with the Class of 1957. Upon graduation he went to New York, where he was employed as a carpenter, painter, and worked in construction. He later returned to Blackville, South Carolina where he worked for E.T. Barwick, Chill Chest, and Aiken County Activist Association. After many years of service and dedication with the South Carolina Regional Housing Authority#3 he retired in 2002.

Charlie joined Macedonia Baptist Church as a child where he served and worshipped faithfully until his health began to decline. He served as a trustee at the influence of his mother, Edith Minus and later served for several years as Chairman. He was subsequently named the boards Trustee Emeritus.

Illustrious brother Charlie Minus belonged to many Masonic Organizations. He was a dedicated member of Brickyard Lodge #55, Minus-Johnson-Stevens Order of Knights Temple, Napoleon Reed Chapter of Royal Arch Masons and John B. Gadson Consistory #2 and Omar Temple #119.

He was married to Saundra L. White and to this union he raised and nurtured four daughters in the home. Charlie was an avid lover of sports, becoming a boxer and baseball player. He continued his love for the game of baseball as a community umpire throughout the CSRA. Charlie enjoyed teaching his daughters how to fish, perform minor maintenance on cars, and do household handy work with carpentry tools.

He was preceded in death by his parents and six of his nine siblings.

Mr. Charlie Minus leaves to cherish his legacy and mourn his passing: his wife, Saundra; four daughters, Ceonia McMillian, Kemberly (Nathanial) Vance, Naomi (Kevin) Washington and Sabrina Parker; two sisters, Josephine Minus and Ella Minus; mother in law, Mildred D. White; two sisters in law, Betty F. Minus-Murrell and Gladys (Robert Sr.)Tony; two brothers in law, W. Harvey White and Marvin White; thirteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren and a dedicated aunt and caregiver, Ceonia D. Albright.
