Cherry Ann Alvin Richardson was born on August 25, 1952 in New York, New York, to the late Jerry Alvin and Ruther Lee Aiken Alvin. Cherry was granted her angel wings on Friday, March 7, 2025 at Laurel Baye Healthcare in Blackville, SC. She peacefully left with the angel of silence to a land that is free from sickness, sorrow and pain.

Besides her parents, Cherry was preceded in death by her husband, John Richardson, brothers, Jerry Alvin Jr., Arnold Alvin, John Alvin, and her sister, Sheallah Alvin.

Cherry was educated in the public schools of Brooklyn, New York. In her early twenties, she married John Richardson and moved to Denmark, SC with her son, Demond Alvin. She was a homemaker and enjoyed her life with her family. The memory of her will continue to live in the hearts and minds of those who knew her. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She leaves to cherish fond memories: a son, Demond (Lekesha) Alvin of Charlotte, NC; grandson, Demond Xavier Alvin also of Charlotte, NC; a brother, Jesse Alvin of Blackville, SC; sisters, Jacqueline (Tony) Stewart of Jacksonville, FL, Vertell Deloris Alvin of Jonesville, SC; nephews, Tariff Dorian Hudson (Kylie) of Jacksonville, FL, Cory Alvin of Brooklyn, NY, Travis James of Aiken, SC; nieces, Bobbie Evans of Fernandina Beach, FL, Takima Porter Roach of Jacksonville FL, Carlisha (Gerald) Gory of Murfreesboro, TN, Shontee Alvin of Jonesville, SC, Latanya Simpson of Brooklyn, NY, Latoya Simpson of Aiken, SC, Tiffany Williams of Aiken, SC, Janice Williams of Blackville, SC, Shamika Alvin of Brooklyn, NY and a Vickie Walker of Blackville, SC, Special Friend Melissa Peoples of Blackville, SC, and a
