Mr. Crandall LaFurman White, beloved son of Brenda and Freddie White was born on June 2, 1972.  He completed all of his earthly assignments and has now moved on to his heavenly rewards and treasures.  On Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 9:22 PM, God dispatched His angels and Crandall gained his wings.

Crandall was a godly and faithful man who loved the Lord. At an early age, Crandall attended many church services and programs with Grandmother Hazel. He often said that he didn't plan anything on the weekends because he knew he would have to drive his grandmother to her church services and Eastern Star meetings. Crandall accepted the Lord as his personal savior early in his life. He was a member of Canaan Baptist Church, in Branchville SC.  However, he also attended his father's church, Second Providence Baptist Church, Bowman SC.  Crandall loved singing and giving praise to the lord. He was a prayer warrior, he never failed to give the Lord praise even in his days of sickness.

Crandall graduated from Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School in 1990. While at Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School, he was a member of the marching band, where he played the trombone.  After graduating from high school, he attended college at South Carolina State College. Crandall acquired his credentials for Education from South Carolina State University including a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Education degree in History. He later obtained his Educational Specialist degree in administration.
Crandall began his teaching career at Duke University Center of Documentary Studies in Durham, North Carolina.  Later he was employed by Orangeburg County School District for over 25 years at Hunter Kinard Tyler High School, He taught Social Studies including Street Law, Economics, Government, Civics, and World Geography. Crandall also taught students via satellite at Edisto and Branchville High Schools.   He had a passion for history and a love of facts.
Crandall was loved and respected by the administration, faculty, staff, and students of Hunter-Kinard -Tyler High School. Crandall was known by the administration, faculty, and staff for his leadership ability and willingness to assist whenever and however possible. Crandall was voted Teacher of the Year twice during his time at HKT. He was also nominated for a third year but declined the nomination because he felt that another colleague was more deserving. His love and respect for his students was evident in the way he would greet them at the door every day. He would say, "Good morning young people."  He always showed high regard by addressing his students as "Mr. or Ms.", and not by their first names.

Crandall also had a passion for athletics.  During his tenure, he also served as an Athletic Director and coach.  In 2018, Crandall received an outstanding service award from the South Carolina Athletic Coaches Association for 20 years of dedicated service.  He was instrumental in leading and supporting the coaching staff at Hunter Kinard Tyler High School. Crandall spent many late nights ensuring that every aspect of his job, duties, and responsibilities were completed.  He was meticulous and thorough. Crandall was always the first on the job and the last to leave. Crandall would make sure that everyone involved with athletic events were well taken care of, even if it meant staying late hours.

In the year 1998, Crandall met Denise Carter, the love of his life at Hunter-Kinard-Tyler High School. They were engaged three years later and were married on February 23, 2003.  To this beautiful union, four children were born. Nigel Ahmad and Crandall, Jr. are heavenly angels. Nadia and Noah are their angels on earth.
Crandall's love and dedication to his family was unwavering.  His primary concern was that his family was protected and happy. Crandall was a man of humility, godliness, and pride.
He enjoyed vacationing with his family and attending SCSU football games. His family enjoyed many Bojangles meals because he would frequently answer the half-time trivia questions correctly. He also thoroughly enjoyed grilling. He was a master at grilling ribs. Crandall was very proud of his craft.  He would often post pictures of his grilled meals to his family and friends.
Crandall looked forward to watching NFL games with his son and riding roller coasters with Nadia because her mom and brother would not.  He especially enjoyed teaching and advising his children about life. Crandall was a gentleman of a man, who taught his son how to be a man and his daughter how to be a lady. He never raised his voice to his children because he did not have to, one look was all that was needed. However, when discipline was needed, he did not hesitate "to chop those buns."
Crandall and Denise shared a special and unique love.  Crandall often said that he and Denise had their own special language.  Their special language was more apparent during his last illness after he lost his ability to speak. However, Denise ensured Crandall that she would be "his voice." Crandall learned some sign language and alternative communication to let his needs and desires be known. He never lost his ability to show her love and affection. Crandall and Denise enjoyed many memorable times over their 20 years together.  Their love is eternal.

Crandall leaves to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted wife, Denise, and their two children, Nadia and Noah; his parents, Freddie and Brenda White of Orangeburg, SC; a sister, Chedra Anthony (Elijah), Orangeburg, SC; a cousin, like a brother, Roger Willams, Orangeburg, SC; a special childhood friend, Terrell Cobbs, Orangeburg, SC;  a sister-in-law, Stephanie Eubanks (Dewayne), Barnwell, SC, and a brother-in-law, Edwin Carter, Aiken SC; three nieces, Loren Eubanks, Jaleesa and Nika Anthony and a nephew, Xzavier Anthony; loving in-laws, Joseph and Ida Carter, Blackville SC; special neighbors, Craig and Wanda Porter, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.

Preceding Crandall in death are his paternal grandparents, David and Wilhelmena White of St. George, SC and maternal grandparent, Hazel Butler of Branchville, SC.
