On Thursday, January 2 ^nd , 2020 at his home in Blackville, South Carolina, James Edward Ward answered his Masters call and departed this earthly life for his heavenly home.  Although his physical presence may be no more, his legacy will remain.  He will always be remembered for his sense of humor, wisdom and his love of those that surrounded him.

James Edward Ward was born on May 24 ^th , 1959 in Barnwell County, South Carolina.

At an early age, James joined Shrub Branch Missionary Baptist Church where he served faithfully as a Deacon, usher, and choir member until his passing.

James was united in Holy Matrimony to Callie Thomas Ward on March 5 ^th , 1982. He was employed by Daco and Barnwell State Park.

James was a man of many hobbies but particularly fishing, traveling and most of all singing and conveying the Word of God.  James faithfully and patriotically served his country by enlisting in the United States Army in 1977.

James was preceded in death by his mother, Corine Ward and his sisters, Mary Brown and Marcia Jamison.

Cherishing James's precious memories include his loving wife, Callie Ward of Blackville, SC; three daughters, Nakia Thomas of Greenville, SC, Gracie (Bryant) Bennett of Aiken, SC and Lasonja Ward of Blackville, SC; one son, James (Tonya) Joyner of Whitepond, SC; three sisters, Cathy McCrea of Blackville, SC, Evelyn (CL) Jamison of Denmark, SC and Letha Johnson of Spartanburg, SC; six grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends.
