Delores Jeter was born on June 16, 1944 in Harlem, New York to the late Johnell and Percell Jeter. On October 13, 2020, Delores, a woman of committed faith, went home to be in the presence of the Lord, with her family by her side.

Delores graduated from Blackville-Hilda High School.  She was a faithful member of Macedonia Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing on the sanctuary choir.  Delores retired from Dixie -Narco, was a faithful and dedicated employee at Dash's Funeral Home and volunteered her spare time working at the voting polls for many years .

Delores was a member of Morning Star Chapter #123 Order of Eastern Star; C. B. Wright #415 Heroines of Jericho where she served as the Most Ancient Matron; Abney's Council #3 of Crusaders (she served as the Grand Treasurer for several years); Moore's Court # 2 of Amaranth, where she served as Past Royal Matron and DOI Court #4, where she served as Past Commandress. She was also a member of the National Degree Team. She enjoyed traveling with the organization and she loved being a Heroines of Jericho Diva. All of this is affiliated with Free and Accepted Ancient York Rite Masons, Prince Hall Origin, National Compact, USA.

Delores is preceded in death by two children, Tenissa Bosier and Timothy Jeter and one granddaughter, Sherell (Tyrone) Donaldson.

Those left to cherish her memories are two sons, Percell (Patricia) Jeter and Dale Jeter both of Blackville, SC; one sister, Ruby Jeter of New York, NY; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one God-daughter, Tykeshia Jenkins of Blackville, SC; an adopted daughter, Lashae (Lamont) Wilson; one adopted grandchild, Stacie Barrett of Macon, GA; two special friends, Martha Felder and Erthell Dukes both of Blackville SC and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
