Deloris James Williams- Stroman, daughter of the late Mr. Clinton James and the late Mrs. EverDean Johnson James, was born on October 7, 1950 in Orangeburg County. Deloris attended Voorhees High School (known today as Voorhees College), graduating with the class of 1968. She furthered her education earning a degree in Early Childhood Education. Deloris would often say that every child is capable of learning and all that they need is encouragement and a little reinforcement. Throughout her thirty plus years of teaching at Bamberg School District 1 and 2, Deloris wore many different hats. Needless to say, educating others was her life's passion. Sister Deloris accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior at a very young age. She was a loyal and faithful servant of the Rome Baptist Church, Denmark, South Carolina for as long as her health would permit. She was a dutiful member who served on numerous committees and was a member of the gospel choir, and the Missionary Circle #2. Cherishing Deloris' golden memories are: a loving husband of 12 years, Mr. Samuel Stroman of the home; a devoted and dedicated daughter, Tonya (Lionel) Holmes of Denmark, SC; a loving granddaughter, Gina Holmes of Orangeburg, SC; a devoted grandson, Lionel Thomas Holmes Jr. of Denmark, SC; a sister, Freddi (Timothy) Huff of Aventura, FL; her mother-in-law, Birdell Stroman of Orangeburg, SC; and a host of other loving relatives and friends. Viewing for the public will be held on Friday between the hours of 5:00 - 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
