Derrick Colby Hughes was born on August 17, 1983 to Clara Ann Hughes.  He entered into eternal rest on Monday, September 11, 2023 at his home.

He was preceded in death by his best friend, Derrick Daniels (Snappy).

Derrick leaves to cherish fond memories: his mother of the home; a daughter, Sa'Niyah TyLisha Hughes; brothers, Tevin Montrell Hughes and Jordan Edward Buxton; grandmother, Clara Mae Hughes; three aunts, Mary A. Hughes, Eartha D. Eady, Teresa Hughes; uncles, Allan Clarke of Brooklyn, NY; Paul Hughes, Reginald Eady; special sisters, Linda Mack, Sara (Derrick) Simmons and RaKeyya (Duane) Green; special brothers, Mark (Kisha) Bailey, Lamar (Laurina) Buxton and Lamont (Deette) Buxton; his best friend, Cordell Price as well as a host of cousins and other relatives and friends.
