Dorothy Mae Gloster-Heyward was born to the late Elmore & Ella Hunter-Gloster on March 26, 1941. She was raised in Blackville, SC.

She joined and was baptized at the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church at an early age. Affectionately called Dot, she received her schooling at the Macedonia School in Blackville, SC. She later embarked on career of 35 years at Dixie-Narco and married Abraham Hayward, Sr.

Dot truly loved cooking on any given occasion and enjoyed working in the yard.

She fought a good fight and on April 22, 2016, she transitioned to be with Lord. She is preceded in death by her parents and eight siblings.

Dot is survived by her loving family; her husband, Abraham Heyward, Sr., two children, Linda Nix of Greenville, SC, Abraham Heyward, Jr. of Blackville, SC. One sister, Lillie Bradly of Blackville, SC, One Brother, Willie (Martha) Gloster of Blackville, SC. Two Grandchildren, Alicia (Jahi) Rawlings of Atlanta GA, Brittany Heyward of Aiken, SC, Two Great-Grandchildren, Jayden Rawlings & Jordyn Rawlings. One Aunt, Louise Kelly of Jacksonville, FL. Two Step Children and Three Step Grandchildren, Four Sister-In-Laws and Five Brother-In-Laws and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving friends.
