Dorothy Louise Redwine was born April 9, 1934, at home, in the bedroom that she occupied up until this day. She was raised by two strong, loving parents. Her father, Isaiah Patrick, was a farmer and served as a Deacon. Her mother, Sadie Huggins Patrick, was the rock of her family. She was a seamstress and would make clothing for her and all her siblings.

Dorothy loved her home because it was built over 100 years ago with her father's hands. She resided there until her passing on October 7, 2025. Her siblings, Jake, Ida Mae, Lewis, Albert and Albertha Patrick shared many laughs and fun times growing up together on the family farm.

Dorothy was reared and educated in Denmark, South Carolina, and moved to New York City. There, she raised her three children, Arthur Jackson Jr., Gwendolyn Jackson, and Ronald Jackson Sr.

Dorothy met Jesus and solidified her commitment to Him when she joined the Lebanon Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church in Queens, New York, in 1977. This is where she met and married her beloved husband, George Edward Redwine. Their life's journey led them to make their trek back to the south to restore the home in which she was born, and complete her education. Dorothy earned her college degree in Early Childhood Education at the tender age of 70.  After which, she was often found working as a substitute teacher at the Pecan Grove SDA church.

As the Holy Spirit continued leading, both she and Edward became members of the Rowesville Road SDA church, which later became the Pecan Grove SDA Church (now Christ is the Answer SDA). Dorothy and Edward were eager to serve God and see the gospel light in dark counties. They longed to have a church in Denmark, and one day her grandson, Marquis Jackson, saw a small church for sale that was hid off the main highway. God blessed their desires and they were integral in establishing the Lighthouse SDA Church in Denmark, South Carolina.

Dorothy spent her life dedicated to God's work and to raising her family in the admonition of the Lord. Resting ahead of her and also awaiting Jesus's soon return is her grandson, Marquis' Lamar Jackson. She leaves behind her husband, Edward Redwine along with loving children:  Arthur Jackson Jr., Gwendolyn Jackson and Ronald Jackson Sr. (Acquenette); grandchildren,  Derrick Patrick, Alexander Jackson, Adraysa Jackson, Barbara Follette (Geoff) and Ronald Jackson Jr; great grandchildren,  Zuri Elaine Barnett, Xoë Logan Follette and Gia Skye Follette; spiritual grandchild, Raquel Phillips, nieces, nephews and a host of other family, friends and relatives that will miss her dearly.

Dorothy is cherished for her love, strength, wisdom, and especially her prayers. She left this mortal body unafraid of death, exclaiming, that when she awoke she knew, in faith, that she would meet her Lord. Come soon Lord Jesus.
