Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm at Edisto Fork United Methodist Church, Orangeburg, SC. Rev. Hayes T. Gainey will officiate. Revelation 21:4 Mr. Earl Pough, was the son of the late James Peter Pough and Maggie McMichael, born on November 8, 1944 in Orangeburg, South Carolina. He was called to eternal rest on Friday, September 13, 2013. Earl was educated in the Orangeburg Public School system prior to becoming drafted. He served our country in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge. In 1968, he was united in Holy Matrimony to his childhood sweetheart, Mary Maggaline Pough. She preceded him in death in 1984. To this union, they were blessed with two children. Upon making Philadelphia, PA his home, he was employed at Blue Bird Meat Packing Company. However, he was most recently known for his "green thumb" as evidenced by his garden (maintained in the back of his home) and by his many lawn care customers. Earl was influenced by his wife's devotion to Christ, and in 1979 he was baptized with his daughter. He joined Bible Tabernacle Baptist Church where he served on the Trustee Board. He was a proud member of Mount Olive #27 Prince Hall Masonic Lodge, DeMolay Consistory #1, and Pyramid Temple #1 AEAONMS. He served faithfully until the untimely death of his wife. Earl leaves to mourn his passing, a loving daughter; Paytrienne Dahvonia Pough, and a loving son; Earl Pough Jr (Tanesha), five sisters; Margaret Govan (Mack), *Dorothy Dantzler (Sam), Hattie Evans (Ernest), Thelma McKnight (Leroy), and Shirley Pough, four brothers; *Joseph "Sonny" (Octavia), *James "Bubba" (*Bernice), Bobbie (Shirley), and Andrew (Ethel), four sister-in-laws; Delores Butler and Delores Washington of NY, Beulah Washington and Helen T. Washington of SC, one brother-in-law; Willie Jamison of SC, five grandchildren; Terrell Randy-Peter Pough, Tyrease Patrick Pough, Latavia Charnese Pough, Earl Alexander Pough III, and Aniyah Marnae Pough, one Godson; Leonard Earl Evans, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. *Denotes Deceased
