Eddie Hammond Sr., was born on November 30, 1936 in Barnwell, South Carolina to the late James Hammond Sr. and Eunice Ray Hammond.  He departed this life on February 21, 2021 at his residence following a brief illness.

Eddie joined St. Peter Missionary Baptist Church at an early age.  There he found spiritual enrichment and guidance.

He was married to the late Ann Elizabeth Hammond for 60 years.

Eddie was employed at Dixie Narco in Williston, South Carolina as a Tool and Die Operator for thirty-five years until his retirement.

Eddie was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Elizabeth Hammond and two sons, Richard Hammond and Eddie Hammond, Jr.

Left to cherish fond memories are:  two daughters, Loreen (John) Brown and Georgia (Edwin) Jones ; one son, Ronnie (Lucia) Jackson; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great- grandchildren; three sisters, Willow Hammond, Eartha Ferguson and Nell (Clay) Johnson; three brothers, Johnny Hammond, Leroy (Betty) Hammond and David Hammond; four sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
