Edith Youmans Weathersbee, was born on January 17, 1953, in Blackville, South Carolina to Issac Minus, and Ruenell Brown.  She passed away on October 5, 2023.
Edith Weathersbee was a graduate of Benedict College in Columbia, South Carolina, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education and a graduate of Oakland University in Rochester Hills, Michigan with a Master of Education Degree in Early Childhood Education.
Edith started her career teaching preschoolers and changed to the Adult Education level with the Michigan Department of Corrections at (RGC) Charles Egeler Reception and Guidance Center and Cotton Correctional Facility in Jackson, Michigan. After 32 years, she returned to South Carolina Department of Corrections as the Disciplinary Hearing Recorder, and resided with her husband Pernell Weathersbee and dog, Pebbles. She was involved in several Community organizations and church ministries. She was the President of the Missionary Ministry, Vice President of the Deaconess Ministry, Church Bus Driver, and Vacation Bible School teacher.  She assisted the Mother's Board in any way she could and was also a member of the Sanctuary Choir.
She was the Worthy Matron of Pilgrim Chapter #7, Order of Eastern Star. Grand Associate Conductress of Williams Grand Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, A member of the Heroines of Jericho, and Lady Knights Templar.
Edith had a beautiful soul and an even bigger heart. She had the unique ability to sense when someone needed advice or simply needed someone to talk to. For any of those that were lucky enough to be a part of her life they will remember her infectious smile, her laugh and the love she genuinely had for everyone that she spoke to. Edith had a way of lifting your spirt when you came in contact with her, and making you feel that everything was going to be okay. Her humble and selfless attitude toward life will forever be in our memories when we think of her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Issac Minus Jr. and stepfather, Herman A. Brown Sr.

She is survived by Mother Ruenell Brown; husband, Pernell Weathersbee; daughter, Tiffany (Deanna) Coleman-Weathersbee; son, Todd Weathersbee and handsome twin grandsons, Jaiden and Kaiden Coleman-Weathersbee who love to call her "Nana"; her siblings, Patricia (Angela McCord-Brown) Brown, Robert Kearse, Herman A Brown Jr, Terry (Terry) Kearse, Daryl (Kristin) Bradley, Cynthia Minus, Tim Brown, Tunya Brown and Rick Brown and her sister-in-law, Ogratta (Henry) Abrams. She is also survived by 39 nephews and nieces and 15 great nephews and nieces.
