Funeral services for the late Edna Mae Holston will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 1: 00 pm at Canaan Fair CME Church, Williston, SC.  Interment services will follow immediately at Airport Cemetery, Williston, SC.  Viewing for the public will be held on Friday from 2:00- 8:00 pm at the Bamberg Chapel.


Edna Mae (Newton) Holston, the daughter of the late Rogers Newton, Sr. and Dorothy Walker Newton was born on September 6, 1945 in Bamberg County, South Carolina. She departed this life on Sunday, November 5, 2017.

At an early age, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at Honey Ford Missionary Baptist Church in Denmark, South Carolina. She later entered in fellowship with the Canaan Fair C.M.E. Church in Williston, South Carolina, where she faithfully served as a Stewardess.

She was educated in the Macedonia Schools of Blackville, South Carolina.

In 1967, she married Calvin Holston and to this union three children were born: Alvin Asa, John Darrell and Jeremiah "Mike" Holston.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jeremiah "Mike" Holston and her sister, Barbara Ann Dicks.

She leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Alvin Holston of Sumter, SC, John Holston (Sherly) of Barnwell, SC, three brothers, Rogers (Erma) Newton, of Trenton, NJ, Willie Newton of Hilda, SC and Jimmy Newton of Washington D.C.; four sisters, Jodeanna Hay, Brenda McLamore both of Blackville, SC, Emma Toney of Barnwell, SC and Elizabeth (Albert) Lewis of Oakland, CA; one aunt, Rosa Hill of Pittsburg, PA; three grandchildren, Paul Anthony Holston, Washington, D.C., Brittany Amber Holston, Columbia, SC and Jharius Dentrel Holston, Barnwell, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
