Mr. Edward Rice, better known as "Pep" to family and friends, was the son of the late William Henry Rice and Magdalene Felder Rice.  "Pep" was born on June 15, 1961 in Bamberg, SC and was granted his wings on October 29, 2021 in Bamberg, SC.

"Pep" was a graduate of Bamberg-Ehrhardt High School. In his youth he joined Christ Temple Holiness Church.

"Pep" was employed with CR Jackson Construction Company.  His co-workers admired his work ethics.

He had a love for riding his motorcycle, doing mechanical work, building and fixing things.  He was a man of few words but was always willing to help out anyone when possible.

In 2006 he was united in holy matrimony to Patricia Elaine Rice.

"Pep" was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and two sisters.

Left to cherish his precious memory are:  his children, one and only daughter, Erica (Luther) Rice of Bamberg, SC; Deontae Rice of Myrtle Beach, SC, Mark (Sade) Moody of Cope, SC and Aquarius (Shantai) Rowe of Columbia, SC; eight grandchildren; sisters, Pearlie Rice of Denmark, SC, Loretta Rice of Aiken, SC and Henrietta Rice of York, Pennsylvania, as well as a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
