Funeral services for the late Elizabeth Hughes will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 3:00 pm at Macedonia Baptist Church, Blackville, SC. Interment services will follow immediately at Blackville Cemetery. Viewing for the public will be held on Friday between the hours of 5:00-7:00 pm at the funeral home. Ms. Elizabeth Hughes, daughter of the late Mr. Lawson and Mrs. Isabell Hughes, was born December 4th, 1940. On Friday, September 27th, 2013 at Long Island Hospital in Brooklyn, New York, the Lord took her hands, thereby giving eternal rest in His loving arms. At an early age she joined Macedonia Baptist Church, but upon moving to Brooklyn, New York, she entered began to worship with the Nazarene Congregational United Church of Christ at 506 MacDonough Street, Brooklyn, NY 11233. Elizabeth is preceded in death by three brothers. Elizabeth's precious memories will be cherished by: a daughter, Sandra Louise Hughes of Williston, South Carolina; a son, Brian Orr of California; a granddaughter, Candice Elizabeth Hughes of Williston, South Carolina; Mr. Leford Orr, a life-partner of Brooklyn, New York; five (5) sisters - Mrs. Lillie Bell Miller, Ms. Clara Mae Hughes and Ms. Elois Hughes all three(3) of Barnwell, South Carolina, Ms. Mary Alice Hughes of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Mrs. Eartha Eady of Blackville, South Carolina; five (5) brothers - Mr. Eugene (Mrs. Teresa) Hughes and Mr. Paul Hughes both of Blackville, South Carolina, Mr. Harold Hughes and Mr. Wilbur Hughes both of Augusta, Georgia and Mr. Robert Hughes of Miami, Florida; one (1) sister-in-law - Mrs. Anita Hughes of Cleveland, Ohio; one (1) brother-in-law - Mr. Reginald Eady; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
