Funeral services for the late Elizabeth Brooker Hunter will be held on Friday, September 25, 2015 at 12:00 noon at Dash's Funeral Home Chapel in Bamberg, South Carolina. Interment services will follow immediately at Hope Memorial Park Cemetery, Barnwell, South Carolina. The family invites the public to view Ms. Hunter on Thursday, September 24, 2015 from 12:00 noon- 6:00 pm at Dash's Funeral Home Chapel in Blackville, South Carolina. Elizabeth Brooker Hunter peacefully passed from this life to eternal life on Saturday, September 19th, at her residence in Columbia, South Carolina. Elizabeth Brooker Hunter was born on August 14, 1953 in Barnwell County, South Carolina. She was the beloved daughter of the late James Leronce, Sr. and Lizzy Mae Brooker. She was raised in a loving home with her siblings; Christine, Rondell, Linell, Leon, James, Jr., Melissa, Thurmond, Sherman, Joseph, and the late Edward and Patricia. Elizabeth received her education from the Barnwell County Public School System graduating from Blackville- Hilda High School. She also received a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Education from Voorhees College in Denmark, South Carolina. After graduating from college, Elizabeth briefly worked in Blackville Public School System. In 1977, she moved to Columbia, South Carolina where she was employed at Bank of America. Elizabeth retired from the United States Postal Service after twenty-two dedicated years. On January 2, 1981, Elizabeth Brooker married James Arthur Hunter. Together, they raised two sons, Plexton and Jace and her beloved step-daughters, Kwan and Kengi. Cherishing the special memories and wonderful times with Elizabeth are her beloved mother, Lizzy Mae Brooker; her devoted sons, Plexton ( Michelle) Hunter, Jace Hunter; step-daughters, Kwan (Chris) Cabellon and Kengi (Sam) McGhaee, a God-daughter, Sonjia Green; seven loving grandchildren, Derion Hunter, Cash Hunter, Taylor Hunter,Keenan Cabellon, Crisean Cabellon, Jansen McGhaee, and Samia Jackson; two sisters, Christine (Kim) Wilson and Melissa Brooker; seven brothers, Rondell Brooker, Linell (Bernita) Brooker , Leon Brooker, James Brooker, Jr, Thurmond (Taeman) Brooker, Sherman Brooker, and Joseph Brooker and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, friends and co-workers.
