Funeral services for the late Elizabeth Posey Jones will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Macedonia Baptist Church, Blackville, SC.  Interment services will follow at Hope Memorial Park Cemetery, Barnwell, SC.  Viewing for the public will be held on Friday from 11:00- 8:00 pm at the funeral home.


On February 6, 2016, the Lord called to rest Elizabeth Posey Jones . Elizabeth was born on January 19, 1941 in Blackville, South Carolina. She was one of twelve children born to the late Johnny Posey and Maebell Posey of Blackville, South Carolina.

"Liz," as she was called, was educated in the Blackville Public Schools. She spent most of her life working as a seamstress. She never gave up on her education. She went back to school at the age of 40 and received her high school diploma.

Elizabeth was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Blackville, South Carolina. She served on the Usher Board for many years until her health failed. She was also the Mother of Daughters of the King.

Elizabeth Jones was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Albert Jones, Jr. They were marred for 43 years.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Alberta Jones and seven siblings.

Elizabeth Jones leaves to celebrate her life—One daughter, Yolanda (Lonzo) Rivers of North, SC; six sons: Joenell Posey of the home, Clarence (Gloria) Jones of Jacksonville, FL, Roger (Nilda) Jones of Okeechobee, FL, Alfonzo (Greta) Jones of Gadsden, SC, Henry (Sheila) Jones of Denmark, SC and Bruce (Linda) Jones of Blackville, SC; five adopted daughters: Narlia Thomas, Jannie Faust, Wanda Raysor, Ruby Moncrieff and Nicki Burton; four sisters: Mildred Chanblen of Glassboro, NJ, Lillian Moore of Williston, SC, Lottiedell Hampton of Belle Glade, FL and Lucille (Will Henry) Bosewell of Fort Pierce, FL; one brother, Raymond Lee Posey of Miami, FL; four sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; one aunt, Jessie Mae Davis of Barnwell, SC; seventeen grandchildren, nine great grands; a special friend, Louella Thomas, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
