Funeral services for the late Ms. Elmina Corley will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 12:00 noon at Macedonia Baptist Church with the Rev. Floyd Hughes officiating. Ms. Corley will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service and public viewing will be held for only one hour before the services begin. Interment services will be held at Hope Memorial Park Cemetery in Barnwell, SC. Ms. Corley, the daughter of the late Monroe and Geraldine (Coker) Corley, was born on November 21, 1925 in Barnwell County, South Carolina. She received her education in the Blackville Public School System. At an early age, she joined Frost Branch Baptist Church and remained a faithful member until her passing. Elmina was employed in a domestic capacity. Elmina had five siblings that preceded her in death, Mary Etta Reed, Eugene Kirkland, Mike Kirkland, Lillie Mae Hill and Pat Kirkland. She was also preceded in death by two of her children, Mrs. Juanita Hobbe and Mrs. Emma Peacock. Elmina was a loving and kind person who loved cooking and would not turn anyone away from her kitchen. She would go out of her way to help others. Those left to cherish her memories are: her children, Hariel E. (Aletha) Corley of Blackville, SC, Elizabeth Reed of Blackville, SC, Leroy B. (Hyacinth) Corley of Hephzibah, GA, Marilyn Corley- Williams of Columbia, SC, John E. (Andell) Corley of Lymon, SC, Andro S. (Jennifer) Hobbe of El Cajon, CA ,Timothy (Lashawn) Hobbe of Colorada Spings, CO, Cornelia Dixon of Blackville, SC, Leroy (Bobo) Griffin of Bamberg, SC and Beatrice Barron of Aiken, SC; one brother, Joe Morris of Columbia, SC; thirty four grandchildren; thirty four great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one brother-in-law; one sister-in-law; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
