Mother Ester Lee Parker Ford, the beloved daughter of the late David and Queen Ester Parker, was born on May 26, 1946, in Olar, SC.

A Time For Every Purpose Under Heaven

Affectionately known as "Sister," she grew up in the small town of Olar, SC. During her teenage years, her family moved to Denmark, SC, where she graduated from Voorhees High School. Always trusting and believing in the Lord, Mother Ford committed herself to Jesus Christ and began her Christian journey at Ebenezer Methodist Church. She later followed her father to Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Olar, SC, and accompanied her grandmother, Frances Patterson, and her mother to Sunday school at St. Phillips Church of God, which she later joined. As a true Woman of God, she worked tirelessly and supported various church activities. When her health declined, she moved to Cross, SC, with her daughter and attended Johnson Temple COGIC in Holly Hill, SC. Mother Ford met the love of her life, David Ford, and they were joined in holy matrimony on May 3, 1970. She was a loyal and loving wife, and their union was blessed with three beautiful children: David Anthony, Carolyn Lee, and Calvin Henry. She worked tirelessly to raise her children to live for, love, and serve the Lord. In her selfless service to the Lord, Mother Ford also raised countless children who were drawn to her stern but unconditional love. "Sister" was always on the weaker side in terms of health but was STRONG in her SPIRIT. Despite being legally blind, she was a hard worker. She worked as a nursing assistant, cafeteria manager, and caregiver for several families in the community. However, those jobs didn't compare to the love and the word of God she shared with everyone she met. One of her favorite songs, "I Don't Feel No Ways Tired," truly exemplified her commitment and service in whatever capacity she took on. Mother Ford's life is indeed a powerful testament to her unwavering faith, resilience, and dedication. Her legacy of love, hard work, and devotion to God continues to inspire all who knew her. She truly embodied the spirit of selfless service and left an indelible mark on her family and community.
