Eva Mae Sistrunk-Parker was the daughter of Fletcher Sistrunk, Jr. and Rosena-Clemons Sistrunk.  She was the devoted wife of the late Jesse (Bill) Parker, and the mother of five children:  Jesse Parker, Jr who preceded her in death and Mary Sue Parker, Vivian Ryant (Ernest), Alfred Parker, and Kendrick Singleton (Tracey) and the Godmother for Margie Frazier and Pamela Fields; she has twenty grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. She was affectionately called "Big Mom" and "Mae-Mae" by all the children she helped to raised. Although she was of modest means, she invited numerous children into her home and raised them as her own. She had nine nephews and nieces; Lawrence Sistrunk (Estelle) and Kwame J. Krakue (Albertha) preceded her in death; and James Bryant, Joseph Bryant, David Lee Tisdale, Tyrone Parker, Janet Parker, Mildred Ojoye, and Kweku Timothy Krakue. She had five siblings: Beatrice Sistrunk and  Charles Clay Sistrunk who preceded her in death; and James Sistunk, Estelle Sistrunk and Dr. Albertha Sistrunk-Krakue; and two god-sisters: Willie Mae Fair and Annie Laura Busby; and a good friend, Gloria Brigman.

Eva Mae was educated in the public schools of Orangeburg.  She worked as a member of the support-staff of several local hotels. She was first a member of Pleasant Branch UMC of Norway, SC; and she later joined Edisto Baptist Church in Orangeburg, where she served as "Mother of the Church."  Her church activities included: singing on the Senior Choir and with the Christian Life Gospel Singers; and serving as the church treasurer. She was active in her church community and attended functions at the senior citizen center, where she loved to play bingo anytime and anywhere. Eva Mae was best known for her quiet demeanor and calm attitude. As a result, she leaves to mourn her passing numerous cousins, friends, neighbors, church members, and well-wishers.
