Mr. Everett Arthur Woods was the son of Sammie Woods, Sr. and
Ruth Lee Green Woods. He was born December 23, 1943 and
departed from this earthly life and entered his eternal home on June
7, 2025 at Wellstar MCG in Augusta, GA.

Arthur joined Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church at an early age and
served on the Usher Board and other areas when called upon.
He received his early education at the Pilgrim Rest Dry Branch
School and graduated from Macedonia High School in Blackville,
SC.

Arthur was employed at Blackville Manufacturing and Ducane
located in Blackville, SC. He worked at Walmart in Marietta, GA
until he retired in 2012.

Arthur had a gentle & quiet spirit, giving heart and he loved his
family. His favorite pastime was fishing & gardening. He always
made it a point to fish in the winter and spring months so that he
could have enough fish to take home and share with his siblings
& friends in the summer. He was also a lover of football and
baseball. His favorite teams were the mighty Blackville-Hilda
Hawks, the Clemson Tigers, the Washington Redskins and the
Atlanta Braves. However, his greatest joy in his later life was
being able to live with his daughter and son-in-law for 24 years.
Preceding him in death were his mother, Ruth Lee Green Woods;
father, Sammie Woods, Sr; sisters. Carrie Lee Woods and Dora
Ashley; brother, Sammie Woods, Jr; and his beloved "grand-
dogs", Mister Bojangles and Deuce.

To celebrate his life, he leaves to cherish fond memories: his
devoted daughter, Pamela (Bruce) M. Alston of Hephzibah, GA;
four sisters, Catherine W. Burkhaulter, Shirley (Robert) W.
Johnson, Mary Felder & Darlene Woods of Blackville, SC; two
brothers, James Woods of Blackville, SC and Ronnie Woods of
Barnwell, SC; one sister-in-law, Eartha Woods of Denmark, SC;
grandchildren. Brandon (Quinteria & Zoe) Alston of Columbia,
SC, Steven (Stephanie & Lyla) Alston of Marietta, GA; two aunts,
Elizabeth Woods Johnson of Blackville, SC and Edna Mae Green
of Aiken, SC in addition to a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
