Mr. Johnson will be placed in the sanctuary of the church one hour before the service on Tuesday. Mr. Freddie Lee Johnson, son of the late Mr. Horace and Mrs. Eva Jones- Johnson was born October 21, 1948 in Bamberg, South Carolina. He entered into eternal rest on November 20, 2014 at the Regional Medical Center, Orangeburg, South Carolina. He was a quiet-spirited, humble and was well liked by everyone who knew him. Freddie was educated at Richard Carroll School in Bamberg, South Carolina. At an early age, he accepted Christ as his personal savior and joined St. John Baptist Church in Bamberg, South Carolina. While a member at St. John Baptist Church, he served as a trustee and in other capacities. Later in life, Freddie began his fellowship with First Peter Baptist Church in Bamberg, South Carolina. There he served as a chairman of the Trustee Board and in many other capacities. Freddie also served with the Brotherhood Ministry. Freddie was employed at Delavan for thirty-five years. He also enjoyed doing construction work, painting and other various odd jobs, when he was available. Freddie was preceded in death by seven brothers and three sisters. He leaves to mourn and cherish his fond memories his wife of forty-one years, Willa Johnson; one son, Rafon Moody of Columbia, SC; three daughters, Freda Harris of Aiken, SC, Tina Harris and LaTonya Broxton of Bamberg, SC; six grandchildren, Addasinnia Broxton, Johnashia Singleton, Juwan Barnwell, Breanna Moody, LaShaya Clark, and Zyan Clark; one great-grandson, Josiah Broxton; nine brothers, Nathaniel (Teresa) Johnson, Larry (Angela) Johnson, Matthew (Besty Ann) Johnson all of Bamberg, SC, Willie (Naomi) Johnson, Bishop Richard Carroll (Lois) Johnson and Walter Johnson all of Columbia, SC, Christopher Scott of Orangeburg, SC, Walter Stokes of New York, New York; eight sisters, Frances (Benjamin) Mack, Ernestine (Charles) Ross, Cynthia (Michael) Sapp all of Bamberg, SC, Mary Carmichael of Orangeburg, SC, Bethel Johnson, Eula Mae Moore and Mamie Ruth (Willie) Waldo all of Columbia, SC and Elizabeth Scott of Kingstree, SC; seven sisters-in-law, Jacqueline Aiken, Joyce Moody and Lorraine Johnson all of Bamberg, SC, Annette (Jerome) Rickenbacker and Rosa Nell Moody both of Columbia, SC, Anna Moody and Geraldine (Gary) Dowling both of Brooklyn, New York and Deborah Johnson of Charlotte, NC; one aunt, Emma Ruth Johnson of Charlotte, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
