Mrs. Fredrena Morris Minus-Odom, age 93, of Denmark, SC, transitioned peacefully on May 11, 2026 in her home.  She was born on February 3, 1933 in Barnwell, SC to the late Harriett Green and the late Charles Dicks.  She was raised by her loving great-aunt, Charity Morris and the late great-uncle, Chris Morris.

Mrs. Odom graduated from Butler High School in Barnwell, SC.  At an early age she was baptized and joined Bethlehem Baptist Church in Barnwell, SC.  After moving to Blackville, SC she joined Tabernacle Baptist Church where she served faithfully as a Sunday School and Vacation Bible School Teacher, a Senior Choir member, and on the Junior Missionary Society.

In 1952, Mrs. Fredrena Morris Minus-Odom was wed in holy matrimony to the late Mr. Joerod Minus, Sr., and to this union she gave birth to seven children: Michael K. Minus (deceased), Joerod Minus, Jr. (deceased), Freddie L. Minus, Geneve E. Minus, John E. Minus (Beverly Minus - wife), Gloria E. Minus-James (Les James - husband), Brenda J. Minus.  She also has one step-son, Ron Minus.

After the passing of her husband, Mr. Joerod Minus, Sr. in 1982, Mrs. Fredrena Minus later married Rev. Isaiah Odom of Denmark, SC, the retired pastor of Second Baptist Church of Barnwell, SC. She became a mother to his six children: Loretta S. Comer, Dwight W. Odom, Shanda A. Odom (deceased), Delethia K. Grant, Isaiah Odom III, and Isanita D. Odom.

As the First Lady of Second Baptist Church, she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, was a member of the Senior Choir, the Young Women's Auxiliary and the Missionary Society.  She also sponsored the first Men's Day Program, organized the Male Chorus and served faithfully until Rev. Odom's retirement.  She mentored many young ladies and touched many people's lives.

Mrs. Fredrena Morris Minus-Odom was preceded in death by her brother, John Henry Wright, and sister, Tossie Wright Robinson.

She leaves behind a loving husband, Rev. Isaiah Odom, her children, a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many other relatives who will miss her.

She will forever be loved and remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
