Funeral services for the late Ms. Geraldine C. Henderson will be held on Friday, May 31, 2019 at 11:00 am at Trinity United Methodist Church, Orangeburg, SC.  Interment services will follow immediately at Belleville Memorial Gardens, Orangeburg, SC.  Viewing for the public will be held on Thursday from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm at the funeral home.

The Ivy Beyond the Wall Ceremony conducted by members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. will be held on Thursday at 6:30 pm at Trinity United Methodist Church, Orangeburg, SC.

G ERALDINE C ECILE H ENDERSON , daughter of the late George W. Henderson and Clara Carmichael Henderson was born in Orangeburg, South Carolina on May 27, 1929. She entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 24, 2019.

Geraldine received her early education in the public school system of Orangeburg, South Carolina. She graduated from Claflin College (Claflin University) with a degree in English. Geraldine furthered her education at South Carolina State University earning a Master's Degree in English. Her teaching career began in St. George, South Carolina. Later she taught in Marion County School System and retired from Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School after 30 years of service as an Educator.

Geraldine was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a longtime member of the United Methodist Women Organization. She served with the Trustee and Usher Boards.

Geraldine loved her sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She was one of the charter members of Gamma Nu Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. at Claflin University. As a "Golden Member" (50 plus years), she received many accolades. As a result of her dedicated service, Geraldine was named Beta Zeta Omega's  "Member of the Year" in 2009.

Geraldine will be fondly missed by her sisters, Juliet Marie Floyd of Orangeburg, SC and Annette Henderson Caesar of Upper Marlboro, Maryland; sister-in-law: Frankie Dean Henderson of Orangeburg, SC and a host of nephews, nieces and other loving family members and friends.
