Mrs. Gertie Lou Johnson, daughter of the late William "Bill" Johnson and Georgia Bell Johnson was born on July 20, 1964 in Bamberg County and entered into eternal rest on Friday, November 30, 2012. Gertie was a graduate of Bamberg Ehrhardt High School. She was employed at Bamberg Landfill Site and worked for Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Sandifer. At an early age, she joined Bethel United Methodist Church, Bamberg, SC. She always greeted everyone with a friendly smile. Gertie was preceded in death by her father and two brothers. Gertie leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter, Jaquqanna Anita Moore of Bamberg, SC; one son, Travis Jabbar Ayers of Atlanta, GA; two grandchildren; two sisters, Elizabeth Johnson and Willie Dell Johnson both of Bamberg, SC; one brother, James Allen (Sue) Murdock of Martin, SC; one sister-in-law, Carolyn Murdock of Springfield, SC; two aunts; two uncles; a special friend and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends. Viewing for the public will be held on Thursday from 10:00- 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends may call at the residence and at the funeral home.
