Gidget LaShawn Stanley, the daughter of Deacon St. Clair, Stanley, Sr., and Pastor Deloris
Crum Stanley, was born on February 2, 1972, in Denmark South Carolina. God saw His daughter in distress,
whispered her name; she answered and entered into eternal rest. Gidget, peacefully, departed this life on
February 21, 2021, at her home.
Church and Home is where Gidget's passion for giving and helping evolved, as she was faithful in
numerous ministries wherever she served. As a child, Gidget joined Rome Baptist Church, Denmark,
South Carolina. She later joined City Refuge Ministries, Denmark, South Carolina, then Union
Missionary Baptist Church, Barnwell, SC under Watchcare. Prior to her untimely passing, Gidget
followed God's heeding and joined her parents and family at Faith Action Ministries, Denmark, South
Carolina.
Gidget attended the public schools of Bamberg County, South Carolina, and was a proud graduate of
Denmark-Olar High School, Class of 1990
Gidget was known for her passion of unselfishly giving of herself to others by cooking, baking, and catering
for the delight of others. She will always be remembered for her cheerful and upbeat personality, her
beautiful smile, her kindness and gentle spirit. Gidget was also known for her strong sense of style and her
ability to incorporate vibrant colors into her fashion statement from "head to toe." To know Gidget, was to
love her. Her greatest "joy" was the recent birth of her precious grandson, Jairus Ashton Tyler.
Gidget's career spanned over 30 years of loyal and dedicated service to others. She was initially employed
by Voorhees College as a Campus Safety Security Officer and by American Best Security. She also worked with
the South Carolina Department of Social Services as a Vehicle Operator. Gidget then worked as a Disaster
Coordinator for the American Red Cross, Orangeburg, South Carolina.
Gidget was employed with Allendale County Government, Allendale, South Carolina, from August 2005 until
Present. She began this profession as the Assistant Emergency Management Coordinator. Gidget, then
served as Emergency
Management Director, and in 2012, assumed the role of Allendale County Risk Manager. Additionally, Gidget
served as a 911 Coordinator Alternate in Allendale County.
During storms and disasters, Gidget was always "on the ground" ensuring the safety of the citizens of
Allendale County and ensuring that all necessary supplies were available. She brought millions of dollars into
Allendale County through grant writing that she researched, wrote, and the county was awarded. Gidget was
instrumental in securing funding to complete the construction of the Emergency Preparedness Building
currently being operated out of today in Allendale County.
Gidget worked closely with Plant Vogtle to bring
reactors up. Her zest for her work was immeasurable, her professionalism; impeccable.

Gidget was Certified American Red Cross, CPR, AED, and she was a First Aid Instructor. She had Impact Weapons
Training, CPI Training, Defense Tactics and Chemical Agents Training, and she was a Certified Department of
Homeland Security Instructor. She was also certified in National Crime Information Center Operations. She was
very proud to obtain her SC Certified Emergency Manager Certification (SCEMA). Gidget attended numerous
conferences for educational enhancement and for networking purposes to bring services back to Allendale County.
Gidget was a Blessing to the
citizens she served in Allendale County.
Her organizations affiliations included Denmark Fire Department, Denmark Rescue Squad, American Red Cross
Volunteer, Santa Rescue Team, SCEMA, and she was a member of the National Emergency Number Association
(NENA). Gidget's contributions to Allendale County will be greatly missed. Gidget's wholehearted contributions to
Denmark and Allendale Counties will be greatly missed
Gidget was preceded in death by her daughter, Charlotte Black, paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William and
Lillie Mae Stanley, and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Odell and Ethel Crum.
She leaves to cherish beautiful memory, her devoted and loving son, Jairus (Ashley) Tyler, Denmark, SC; a
beautiful grandson whom she adored, Jairus Ashton Tyler; her beloved parents, Deacon St. Clair, Sr., and Pastor
Deloris Crum Stanley; 2 sisters, Wyvonia Jenkins, Denmark, SC, Doneka (Rodney) Booker, Chesapeake, VA; one brother, St. Clair (Crystal) Stanley,
Jr., Denmark, SC; and a nephew raised like a brother, in the home, Yetele Stanley; 2 goddaughters, Latifah,
Freeman, Columbia, SC, and Keziah Newton, Allendale, SC; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins,
other relatives and friends. Gidget also leaves to cherish precious moments, 2 special cousins, Harriett Hammond,
West Columbia, SC and Vanessa Freeman, Denmark, SC, a special friend from childhood, Ceyonne Childs, and two
special cousins who were also best of friends, Keni Bey, Summerville, SC and Sharon Goodwin, Denmark, SC.
