Funeral services for the late Mr. Harry Felder, Jr. will be held on Friday, February 7, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Macedonia Baptist Church, Blackville, SC. Interment services will be held at Shrub Branch Missionary Baptist Church, Blackville, SC, with full military honors. Rev. McKinley Neal will officiate. Mr. Harry Felder, Jr. was born on November 18, 1929 in Barnwell County to the late Harry Felder, Sr. and Sarah Powell Felder. On February 1, 2014 he entered into a peaceful rest with family by his side at East Georgia Regional Hospital in Statesboro, GA. He bravely served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He received the United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Korean Service Medal (with one bronze service star), and the Merit Unit Citation. Mr. Felder graduated in 1957 from SC Area Trade School. He was owner of Felder and Son Construction Company for over 50 years; he was later employed by Denmark Technical College as the Building Construction Instructor and retired after 22 years. At an early age, he joined Shrub Branch Missionary Baptist Church where he served faithfully until his health declined. He was a deacon for over 50 years and served as chairman until his death. On August 11, 1956, he joined in Holy Matrimony to Ida Bell Hutto. To this union eight children were born. Two children preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Hutto and brother, Gollie Felder, Sr. He leaves to cherish his precious memories - beloved wife of 57 years, Ida Bell Hutto Felder of the home; seven children, Patricia Daniels of Claymount, DE, Harry III (Annette) Felder, Doris Sanders, Sarah (Joe) Thomas of Blackville, SC, Larry (Corrie) Felder of Beech Island, SC, Diane (Tommy) O'Berry of Barnwell, SC and Clarence Felder of Blackville; sixteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren;one sister, Alice Mae Bradley of Fort Lauderdale, FL; sister-in-laws - Vermell Thomas, Eartha Mae Coker, and Ella(Johnathan) Brabham; brothers-in-law, George(Lula) Hutto, Bazzie (Evelyn) Hutto, Emmit (Edith) Odom, Harold (Pearline) Hutto, David(Kathy) Hutto; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
