Hattie Dowling Fields was born on February 17, 1946 in Barnwell County, South Carolina to the late Johnny Dowling Sr. and Kary Taylor Dowling. She peacefully transitioned on March 31, 2025.

Hattie was a proud 1965 graduate of Macedonia High School. She continued her studies at Orangeburg- Calhoun Technical College where she received a Nurses Aid Certificate.

Hattie was a very hard worker. She worked at the Old Granite in Graniteville, SC and at Skyline Manufacturing in Williston, SC. When she relocated to Canton, Ohio, she worked at the House of Loretta as a nurse's aid. She later followed her passion of cooking and begin making delicious meals for the House of Loretta. She loved cooking, spending quality time with her family and had the most beautiful smile and outgoing personality. During her spare time, she enjoyed hanging out with her family at events.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny Dowling, Sr. and Kary Taylor Dowling, along with her brothers, George Dowling, Glenn Dowling, Bobby Paul Dowling and Athel Dowling.

Hattie's fond memories will forever be treasured by her children, Anthony Mincy, Canton, OH, Lewis Mincy, Freeport, NY, Sherman Mincy, Canton, OH, Joyce Mincy, Columbia, SC, Venor Mincy, Charlotte, NC and Jacqueline (Ken) Baker, Augusta, GA; brothers, Johnny (Beverly) Dowling, Philadelphia, PA, James (Viola) Dowling, Columbia, SC, Charles Dowling, Orangeburg, SC, Melvin (Shirley) Smith, Durham, NC, James Howard, Springfield, SC, Andrew Nickens, Gaston, SC; sisters, Janie Bryant, Denmark, SC, Linda Dowling, Augusta, GA, Brinda Corley, Columbia, SC, Bobby Jean O'Neal, Augusta, GA, Marilyn (Lawrence) Dowling, Columbia, SC and Brenda (JB) Davis, Springfield, SC; an uncle, Wallace Taylor, Blackville, SC; aunts, Shirley Taylor, Charleston, SC and Jessie Mae Matheney, Blackville, SC; thirty-five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, along with a host of other loving relatives and friends.
