Funeral services for Mrs. Henrietta Nickens will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Blackville, SC. Interment services will follow immediately at Blackville Cemetery, Blackville, SC. Viewing for the public will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 am until 7:00 pm at the funeral home. The family will greet friends from 6:00- 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Henrietta Nickens was born on February 23, 1945 to the late Henry & Margaret Smith in Blackville, South Carolina. She departed this life on Friday, March 1st, 2013 at Barnwell Hospital, Barnwell, South Carolina. At an early age she joined and was baptized at Ebenezer Baptist Church, Blackville, South Carolina. She attended Kelly Edwards School, Williston, SC in Barnwell County, South Carolina. She worked in Home Health Care for many years until her illness. Mama loved her family. She is at peace now. No more pain, pills, or the worries of life. She leaves to cherish fond memories - loving husband, Leon Nickens,(Blackville, SC); two daughters, Elaine Nickens,(Barnwell, SC), Gail(Russell)Blanding(Stockbridge,GA; two sons, Andrew(Ruby) Nickens(Gaston, SC),Marvin(Stacey)Nickens(Barnwell SC; six granddaughters, Natasha Andrews,(Chesnee,SC),Danielle Blanding,(Stockbridge, GA),Jerriana Nickens,(Blackville, SC),Nadia Nickens,(Gaston, SC),Nevaeh Nickens,(Barnwell, SC),Alyssia Kelly,(Barnwell, SC); seven grandsons,Christopher Nickens,(Barnwell,SC),Russell and Jeremy Blanding,(Stockbridge, GA), Jamal Nickens, (Springfield, SC),Andrew Nickens, Jr.(Gaston, SC),Kesean and Demarcus Kelly,(Barnwell, SC);two great granddaughters ,Jemya and Jasmyn Andrews,(Chesnee, SC);one great grandson, Jaydin Andrews,(Chesnee, SC); five sisters, Kayollie Ferguson,(Williston, SC),Marcella(Emmanuel)Raysor,(Blackville, SC),Thelma(Fred)Pryor,(Williston, SC),Eartha(Spencer,SR,(Blackville, SC); and Pearl Dowling,(Augusta, GA); one brother, Larry Smith,(Blackville, SC); a devoted friend, Blanch Lee,(Blackville,SC) and Evelyn Priester,(Blackville,SC) who helped care for her in the home; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
