Hercules Kenley made his transition from his earthly home on September 12, 2012, after a brief illness. He was born October 30, 1936 in St. Matthews, South Carolina to the late William and Annie Lou Kenley. Hercules attended the public schools of St. Matthews, South Carolina. At an early age, Hercules joined Macedonia Baptist Church in Orangeburg, SC. He later moved to New London, Connecticut where he joined Shiloh Baptist Church, there he served as deacon as well as on the usher board. Upon returning to Orangeburg, South Carolina, Hercules joined Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church where he was a faithful member. Hercules retired from Pfizer Pharmaceutical Company of Groton, Connecticut. He also worked at the Coast Guard Academy. He loved to bake and make ice cream. He also had a love for gardening and canning. Hercules had a great personality. He always had a beautiful smile. One of his great gestures was helping others. He never met a stranger and therefore, will be solely missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his daughter Hilda Louise Davis. Hercules leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Annie L. Kenley of Orangeburg, SC; a son, George (Joann) Bradley of St. Matthews; seven grand children, Stephanie, Yolanda and Shemeka Bradley, St. Matthews, SC; Carmen L.(Kelcey) West, Harold L. (Tamara) Davis, II, Eric Davis, Leon E. (Belinda) Davis of Las Vegas, Nevada; two sisters, Wilhelmenia McIntear of New London, Connecticut, Brenda Moseley Sumter, SC; one aunt, Carrie Mintz, St. Matthews,SC; one son-in-law, Harold Davis, Las Vegas, Nevada; four sister-in-laws; one brother-in-law; and a host of relatives and friends.
