On December 4, 2023, Holman entered into his eternal resting home. Holman was one of eight children born in Allendale, SC on June 1,1946 to the late Bessie Wright Chess Rouse and Sol Chess. He was proceeded in death by four beloved siblings, Reverend Eugene Chess, Benny Chess, Weldon, Chess and Sol Chess.

Holman attended Allendale training school. He drove trucks for many years for Montague Nix. Afterwards he was a lifelong employee at Augusta, Fiberglass of Blackville South Carolina, where he later retired from. He also was a mechanic, and had many other talents.
He leaves to cherish, found memories to include his loving wife of the home, Annie Dunbar Williams; his daughters, Rosalyn, (Michael) Johnson, of Columbia, South Carolina, Wanda, (Robert) Williams of Graniteville, South Carolina and Chaney (Reco) Simpson of Barnwell, South Carolina; one son, Curtis (Veronica) Workman of Barnwell, South Carolina; a devoted grandson that he raised as his own, Herman Tyrone Chess of Greenville, South Carolina; four step-children, Willie (Kizzy) Williams and Leroy (Felicia) Williams both of Blackville, South Carolina, Leon Williams of Aiken, South Carolina and Yolanda (Felipe) Cruz of Brooksville, Florida; his loving siblings, Herlie (Evon) Chess of Allendale, South Carolina. Emma (Thomas) Priester and Jenny Rouse both of Asheville, North Carolina; grandchildren to include Marissa Johnson, Carnesha Johnson, Tony Bryant, Christopher Brown, Nolan Workman, Nevaeh Tisdale, Laporcha Williams, Hasan Williams,Terry Williams, Austin Simpson, Camara Smith and a host of great grands, nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved friends.
