Mr. H. V. "Crackeye" Mingo, son of the late Lola Bell Mingo was born on May 26, 1953 in Colleton County, South Carolina.  He departed this life on November 26, 2020 at Prisma Health Richland Hospital, Columbia, South Carolina.

H.V. received his education in Bamberg County Schools.  He was a member of Honey Ford Baptist Church in Denmark, South Carolina.

H.V. had a passion for cooking, loving and caring for people.  He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Cherishing H.V.'s memory are his loving wife of the home, Betty Mingo; one sister, Mercy (Lewis) Davis of Erhardt, South Carolina; one brother, Marshall Davis of Denmark, South Carolina; one brother-in-law, James Hudson of Olar, South Carolina; fiver sisters-in-law, Essie Hudson of Denmark, South Carolina, Althiea Mingo of Denmark, South Carolina and Susie Hudson of Ft. Myers, Florida, Annie (JC) Summers and Hattie Bell Brooks both of Blackville, South Carolina; one aunt, Mary Hudson of Govan, South Carolina; six loving children that he helped raise and was known as "Papa" to them, Javiere Johnson, Breona Chisolm, Christopher Wroten, Javion Lindsey, Brashad Green, Aerion Palmer and Jayden McClary as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
