Ms. Ideaner Harden Moore Walker was born September 9, 1911 to the late James Henry Harden and Lillie Sampson Harden in Midville, Georgia at the McGruder Place. During her lifetime, Ms. Walker was employed as a cook at Lucy Laney High School Cafeteria and as a Police Matron at the Augusta City Police Department and retired in 1976. Ms. Walker accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at a young age. She was a member of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. There she and her seven children worshipped and worked diligently. She was the honorary church mother from 2006 until her passing. In 1996, Ms. Walker moved to Orangeburg, South Carolina to live with her daughter, Bernice and her family. She became an essential part of their household and community. She worshipped at New Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she attended Sunday school and bible study. She also developed lasting friendships with her neighbors and her church family in Orangeburg. Ms. Ideaner Walker was preceded in death by her first husband, Johnny R. Moore and by her second husband, Sam Walker. She was also preceded in death by her sons, Charles and Joel as well as her grandson, Bryant. She leaves to cherish her memory: her sons Johnnie (Monika) Moore and James Moore; her daughters Bernice Moore-Green, Sammie Porter and Eunice Walker; ten grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and many beloved extended family members and friends. Evening services will be held at New Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 225 Dutton St., Orangeburg, SC from 7:00- 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the residence of her daughter, Dr. Bernice Moore- Green, 2692 Hillcrest Ave. NE, Orangeburg and at the funeral home.
