Funeral services for James Edward Moultrie, 70, of 128 Daniely Drive, Cordova, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2011, at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Cope, with the Rev. Thomas Darby officiating. Burial will be in Belleville Memorial Gardens in Orangeburg. The casket will be placed in the church one hour before the service. On the evening of Friday, March 18, James Edward Moultrie entered into eternal rest at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg. James was born on Dec. 2, 1940, in Orangeburg. He was the son of the late James Moultrie Sr. and Mrs. Gracie Jefferson Moultrie. James became a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church at an early age. He resided in Neward, N.J., for 19 years before returning home. James was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Reba Jenkins Moultrie, and a son, Marvin E. Moultrie. James leaves to cherish his fond memories two daughters, Elaine Moultrie and Janice Reid, both of Newark; three sons, Richard Jenkins and Herbert Moultrie, both of Newark, and Marc Moultrie of Winston-Salem, N.C.; three sisters, Delores Moultrie, Martha Moultrie and Lena Moultrie, all of Orangeburg; two brothers, Wallace Moultrie and Leroy Moultrie, both of Cordova; a sister-in-law, Janette Moultrie of Cordova; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends. Viewing for the public will be held between the hours of 10 a.m. and 9 p.m. Thursday, March 24, at the funeral home. Sacred arrangements are entrusted to Dash's Funeral Home of Ornageburg.
