Memorial services for the late Jeannette Nelson will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Bamberg Chapel.

J eannette Nelson , the daughter of the late Mr. Willie Lee (Jimmy) Porter and Mary Dash Porter, was born on January 6, 1959 in Orangeburg, South Carolina.  She entered into eternal rest on September 27, 2018 at The Regional Medical Center, Orangeburg, South Carolina, after a brief illness.

Jeannette was educated at Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School and graduated from Bowman High School in the Class of 1977.

Jeannette attended Greater New Hope St. Paul Church on Golf Avenue, also Emanual AME Church of Cope, South Carolina.

She was employed at Amber Industry in Orangeburg, South Carolina and Te Peak in the Sandy Run area for many years, until her illness.

Jeannette was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late John (Johnny) Henry Nelson, Jr. in 1981.  To this union, one son was born.

She leaves to cherish her fond memories: one son, Demond Nelson and Collene Guinyard, whom she would always address as her daughter-in-law and caregiver; two granddaughters: Alissa and Ke'ziya Nelson both of Cordova, SC; one grandson, Jaylen Bradley of St. George, SC; her companion, William hart, who took care of her daily; two sisters: Mary Louise (Karl) Levine of Walterboro, SC and Janie Tracy of Jacksonville, FL; two brothers: Anthony Porter and Leonard (Janet) Porter of Orangeburg, SC; her mother-in-law, Lizzie Nelson of Orangeburg, SC; four sisters-in-law: Marilyn (Willie) Jennings, Teresa Nelson, Sheila Nelson and Wanda (Randy) Keitt all of Orangeburg, SC; one brother-in-law, Mark (Katina) Nelson of Columbia, SC; three aunts: Annie Little of Bowman, SC, whom she was raised with, Annie Laura Busby and Willie Mae (John) Fair all of Orangeburg, SC; one uncle, John Lee (Henretta) Porter and a host of nieces, nephews, other devoted relatives and friends.
