Jessie Lee Hutto Dowling was born on December 4, 1951 to the late Lillie Hutto and Soloman Brown. Jessie departed from this earthly home and entered her resting place on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 7:30 a.m. at her residence in Blackville, South Carolina.

She was affectionately known as "Jet." Jet received her early education at Kelly-Edwards Schools and graduated from Williston-Elko High School in Williston, South Carolina in 1971.

She accepted Christ at an early age at Saint Peter Baptist Church in Elko, South Carolina, where she attended faithfully. She later moved her membership to Macedonia Baptist Church in Blackville, South Carolina, where she attended until her passing.

She was employed at Dixie Narco for 19 years, until her health failed.

Jet is preceded in death by her parents, Lillie Hutto and Soloman Brown.

She leaves to cherish her memories – her beloved husband of 45 years, Herbert Dowling of the home; one son, Steven L. Dowling of Blackville, SC; two sisters: Nettie (Johnnie) Williams of Elko, SC and Carolyn (Kenneth) Hagood of Blackville, SC; three granddaughters: Jasmine, Ny'Asia and Keira Dowling; two great grandchildren; six sisters-in-law: Elouise (William) Harley of Blackville, SC, Lillie Mae Jones of Norway, SC, Sheila (Frank) Ashe of Orangeburg, SC, Patricia (Carl) Logan of Blackville, SC, JoAnn Sanders of Atlanta, GA and Lelia Grayson of Blackville, SC; one brother-in-law, John Lewis (Marty) Dowling of Brooklyn, NY; a special niece and caregiver, Matecia Thomas; close friends: Brian and Kelly Johnson and family, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
