Joan Meeks, age 63 was born on June 11, 1961, to the late James Sr. And Bernice Meeks. Joan comfortably gained her wings on the evening of May 27,2025 at The Medical University of Orangeburg S.C.

She was a graduate of Bamberg Ehrhardt High. Later on, Joan became an employee of The Augusta Fiberglass Company where she continued her employment as a dedicated employee until reaching the age of retirement. She resided in Bamberg where she was loved abundantly by many and touched so many lives with her caring heart and open arms. Joan loved her family and friends, and to know her, you knew you didn't have to be family for her to let you know she loves you. She was a woman of expression and ended every conversation with "I love you". Her compassion for giving and helping others in any way she could, will always be remembered.

In 1996, Joan met the love of her life, Danny L. Coleman,and has been united with him since. From this union, a blended family was formed. Joan was proceeded in death by two brothers, Darrell Meeks, Charles Henry Meeks, Virgile Smalls, and Wanda Nettles.

She leaves to cherish her legacy and wonderful memories, her loving husband, Danny L. Coleman, her son, Shaun Meeks( Joyce) of Columbia S.C. and her daughter, Crystal Monique Thomas- Milhouse (Julius) of Bamberg S.C. Three bonus children whom she loved dearly, Canvas Newman ( Corey) of Denmark S.C, Tiffany Brown ( Mylo) of Summerville S.C, Christopher Palmer (Daya) of Monroe G.A. 6 sisters, Vernell Rice (Odell) of Denmark S.C., Eva Dowling of Lancaster, S.C., Marilyn Haynes, June Meeks, Juanita Meeks (Tony) of Bamberg S.C,and Cynthia James (Robert) of Blackville S.C. 3 brothers, James Meeks Jr (Lessie), Ronald Meeks (Jeanette) and Melvin Meeks all of Bamberg S.C. 1 sister in love, Bernadette Meeks of Denmark S.C, 3 special friends, Blanch Johnson of Bamberg S.C, Bernard Haynes of Denmark S.C, and Donald Smalls of Bamberg S.C. Joan has 8 grandchildren, 13 bonus grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and special friends.
