Funeral services for the late Mr. John Hart, Sr., will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at St. Paul Baptist Church in Orangeburg, South Carolina. Interment services will follow immediately at Roselawn Memorial Cemetery in St. Matthews, South Carolina. Public viewing will be held on Monday from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. John Hart Sr., was the son of the late John Henry and Pearl Hart.He was born on September 21,1933, in Calhoun County, South Carolina. He departed this life on Thursday, January 10,2013 at the Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. John was not a stranger to anyone and always greeted you with a smile. He was very much a people person. John moved to New York at an early age. He worked as a machine operator and also owned an apartment building and rented apartments in Brooklyn, New York.When he retired, John returned to South Carolina to be among his family. John loved the finer things in life from clothing to cars and was a person who loved to take trips back to New York in his Porsche. Although John's presence will be no more, his memories will always linger in the hearts and minds of those who knew and loved him. Left to cherish John's precious and fond memories are three daughters: Peggy (Daniel) Hart Scales of Queens, New York, Lorisa (George) Hart Miller of Donalsonville, Georgia, Hallie Q. Hart of Charlotte, North Carolina; four sisters, Mrs.Dorothy Bynes, Mrs.Annie Ruth Hills and Ms. Alemeta Hart all of Orangeburg, South Carolina and Ms. Selesta Hart of St Matthews, South Carolina; four brothers, Ernest (Mildred) Hart of St Matthews, South Carolina, Bobby (Betty) Hart and Daniel Hart both of Geneva, New York and Marvin (Esther) Hart Orangeburg South Carolina; four grandchildren, Daniel Scales Jr,. Icelean Scales, Gina Scales, and Judy Parker; five greatgrandchildren; and a host of nieces, newphews and other relatives and friends.
